Current Exhibition

1st - 8th March
Exhibition of Artwork by pupils of
Wadebridge School & 6th Form

The Chase Art Centre has once again given its Upper Gallery space for the display of pupils work from Wadebridge School. This is a unique partnership both locally and nationally, becoming a recognised event in the artistic community's calendar. This partnership has brought with it great benefits to the students of Wadebridge School. The gallery is used throughout the year as a valuable resource for the pupils. This event has always proved very popular and a lot of interest is generated each year. The response over the years and support from the artistic community has been quite outstanding.

The idea behind the exhibition was to celebrate the work of our young people, within an area that is rich in its background and presence in the creative Arts.  It is hoped displaying work beyond the classroom shows the place and immense value the creative Arts has within our society.

On show will be a wide selection of work from all age ranges at the school, including G.C.S.E, BTEC and A Level coursework.  Subject matter will range from traditional subjects like still life and self portraiture, to exploring styles of others and individual ideas. It will not only represent those pupils with natural talent and ability, but also the work of those who have demonstrated a high level of engagement and enjoyment through their work.

The Art Department are very proud, both of the work achieved within the school and of the pupils themselves. Each year has produced a completely different show with a different feel to the pupils' work, from a blaze of exuberant colour , formal observational drawing, through to the integration of words and images to express personal concerns over an array of issues.

The Art Department at Wadebridge School are very grateful to Gary Byrne for his unique and generous support of the work we do, and the giving over of his gallery space for these two weeks.

The Exhibition will run from  1st March to  8th March , with the private view on March 1st from 2 - 5pm, all welcome.  Please come and support our local young talent by popping in and seeing the work on show.
